Dante’s inspiring life
The story of Dante’s life was just featured in GMA 7’s “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” which reignited his fame. PhilStar reported that during the feature, Dante was 23 years old. He is just 20 feet tall and weighs 7 kilos.
He was born on September 25, 1993 in Brgy. Union, Mayorga, Leyte with Proportionate Dwarfism. Since his mother easily gave birth to him, which was likened to the stunt of action star Dante Varona when he jumped from the San Juanico Bridge, he was named after the star.
Like his namesake, Dante also gained fame and had the opportunity to meet Philippine stars like Willie Revillame, Dagol and others. He also receives many invitations for town fiestas. Tourists and locals alike also come to their area to get a picture with him.
His life is full of joy and fun despite his condition which inspires us to remain happy whatever challenges we encounter. He likes to play with other kids in their barangay and he maintains a positive disposition in life.
But now that he is gone, what we have are mere memories of Dante Varona. Indeed, the story of Dante is an inspiration to us Filipinos. His heart may cease to beat but his memories will forever remain in our hearts.
Rest in Peace, Dante Varona.
