For the couple Jon and Erchie, traveling allows them the means to make the most out of life. It also enables them to discover new finds. They go on a road trip and travel as much as they can but they always make sure that doing so won’t ruin their budget.
Here are the top three rules they live by for some guilt-free travels:
Follow the rule of “Living within your means”
It’s a cliché but nevertheless still a golden rule and especially one that’s not easily followed. In the first place, you need to have a monthly budget so that you can properly allocate and track where your money goes. In the second place and the reason why you need to have a budget, after all, you need to stick to your budget and not overspend. Your priorities should be properly aligned and travel should afford you peace of mind, not another reason to be broke and be constantly in debt.
Look for activities that you can do for free and still enjoy
Travelling brings to mind new experiences and the pleasure of sightseeing. What’s even better is that you don’t have to splurge just to enjoy all these things. You can still have heaps of fun just tramping, going to the beach or having a picnic – and these activities can be enjoyed for free. All you need to bring with you is that bright personality and cheerful outlook.
Look for accommodations that allow you to cook or bring your own food/drinks/wine
This is especially great if you or your travel buddy likes to cook. If you’re traveling on a budget, you may compromise on meals when food isn’t the main reason why you’re visiting a place. This allows you extra bucks to spend on activities, transportation or accommodation. Don’t think you’re depriving yourself of the local delicacies. How about hitting the local market and trying your hand on that local cuisine?
